Official description

DOW-UAP-D090: Range Fouler debrief transcript from a 2019 Eastern US military-training-range incursion. The reporting aviator's own words characterize the object as rectangular, of substantial size, and exhibiting flight characteristics 'unlike anything I had seen in my 28 years' of aviation service. The debrief was part of the standard Range Fouler reporting process used by US military airspace controllers to document any unauthorized or unidentified object entering an active training range.

Editor's context

Range Fouler debriefs are one of the cleanest categories of primary UAP source material: they are made contemporaneously, by professionally trained observers, using standard reporting forms, in a controlled institutional setting where career consequences for exaggeration are real. The Eastern US 2019 debrief joins a small cluster of Range Fouler files (DOW-UAP-D42 Japan 2023, DOW-UAP-D89 Eastern US 2020, DOW-UAP-D91 Atlantic 2020) whose common threads are named US aviator witnesses and multi-sensor confirmation.

Prevailing explanation

What scientists and analysts generally think

AARO has not adjudicated this case to a conventional explanation as of release. The 28-year aviator framing and the rectangular-object description are cited in secondary coverage as among the most credible descriptions in the Release 04 batch, though the underlying sensor data has not been released.

In the margins

Transcribed redactions, stamps, and handwritten markings, the paratext of the file. Often the most human part of a declassified document, and worth reading on its own.
