Official description

Full committee hearing of the House Oversight Task Force on Declassification of Federal Secrets. Sworn witnesses: journalist George Knapp (Las Vegas KLAS-TV); US Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Alexandro Wiggins; US Air Force veteran Dylan Borland; US Air Force veteran Jeffrey Nuccetelli; Joe Spielberger (Project on Government Oversight policy counsel). Hearing scope: AARO transparency, whistleblower reprisal protections, PURSUE oversight.

Editor's context

This is the first formally-noticed House committee hearing dedicated to UAP whistleblower protection since the July 2023 Grusch hearing. Wiggins is a serving USN Senior Chief; Borland and Nuccetelli are USAF veterans with prior on-record UAP accounts. Knapp is the veteran investigative journalist who broke the Bob Lazar story in 1989. The hearing is under Luna's chairmanship of the Federalization, Immigration, and Government Operations Subcommittee, continuing the same congressional line that produced her March 31 letter demanding the 46 videos which preceded PURSUE Release 01.

In the margins

Transcribed redactions, stamps, and handwritten markings, the paratext of the file. Often the most human part of a declassified document, and worth reading on its own.
