Official description

House Oversight National Security Subcommittee hearing titled 'Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Implications on National Security, Public Safety, and Government Transparency'. Chaired by Rep. Glenn Grothman. Sworn witnesses: David Grusch (former National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency), Cmdr. David Fravor USN (Ret.), Ryan Graves (former US Navy F/A-18 pilot).

Editor's context

Grusch testified that the US government has for decades operated a classified crash-retrieval and reverse-engineering program involving non-human origin technology. He named no specific program or evidence he could present publicly, citing classification. Fravor recounted his 2004 Nimitz Tic Tac encounter. Graves testified about routine UAP encounters by Navy aviators. The hearing is contested because Grusch's specific claims remain unverified by any public evidence and have been denied by DoD spokespeople; his testimony is nonetheless the most senior sworn public claim on record.

In the margins

Transcribed redactions, stamps, and handwritten markings, the paratext of the file. Often the most human part of a declassified document, and worth reading on its own.
