Official description
Joint hearing of the House Oversight Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation Subcommittee and the National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs Subcommittee. Sworn witnesses: Luis Elizondo (former AATIP director), Rear Adm. Tim Gallaudet USN (Ret., former NOAA Administrator), Michael Shellenberger (Public journalist), Michael Gold (former NASA associate administrator).
Editor's context
The November 2024 hearing was the closest thing to a follow-up to the July 2023 Grusch hearing, but with a different witness slate. Elizondo repeated his AATIP-era claims about UAP recovery and reverse-engineering activity. Gallaudet described undisclosed high-value UAP data he says was suppressed within the Navy. Shellenberger produced Substack-sourced claims about a Pentagon program named Immaculate Constellation. Gold testified about the difficulty of getting NASA to formally engage the topic. Contested throughout because much of the specific evidence cited remains outside public verification.
In the margins
Transcribed redactions, stamps, and handwritten markings, the paratext of the file. Often the most human part of a declassified document, and worth reading on its own.
