NASA-UAP-D030 through D032: three still frames captured by external cameras aboard Space Shuttle Columbia during STS-80, November 19 to December 7, 1996. The frames were the subject of decades of public speculation and have been distributed in low-resolution form since the late 1990s. The PURSUE release places the original high-resolution NASA-source files on the public record.

STS-80 was a 17-day scientific mission focused on the Wake Shield Facility and orbiting retrievable satellite technology. The unidentified-object frames were captured during a portion of the mission when the orbiter's cameras were tracking free-flying satellite payloads. They were popularized on UFO web-forums throughout the late 1990s and 2000s.

What scientists and analysts generally think
The prevailing explanation attributes the objects to orbital debris, insulation particulates from the orbiter's own thermal blanket, or ice crystals from waste-water venting. These are the same three categories that account for the great majority of shuttle-era UAP imagery, and they are supported by the specific viewing geometry visible in the frames. A minority position interprets the frames as showing behaviors inconsistent with debris, but this position has not gained ground in either NASA orbital-mechanics analysis or independent astronomical review.
