Project Sign
The first US Air Force UAP investigation program, established December 30, 1947 by Gen. Nathan Twining at Wright-Patterson AFB. Classified as SAUCER publicly and Sign internally. December 1948 progress report (DOW-UAP-D097 in PURSUE Release 04) is the earliest substantive institutional US assessment of the phenomenon.
