Release 03 shipped on 2026-06-12 with 72 records. The headline shift is FBI: 23 files, the first time FBI records were folded into the PURSUE portal at scale. Much of this material was previously available at vault.fbi.gov, but its inclusion under the PURSUE unsealing changes its legal and archival provenance. NASA added 8 further Apollo-era items. DoW continues at 21 files, weighted more toward documents than R02.

What mattered

  1. FBI Vault material now under formal PURSUE provenance

    Includes portions of file 62-HQ-83894 (the 16-part Flying Disc series) and Photo A5 / B7 (western US 2025). Not new to researchers who used vault.fbi.gov. New in that these records now sit in the same portal as the DoW sensor material with a common chain of custody.

What was overhyped or already public

  1. "New FBI UFO files"

    Coverage widely framed the FBI submissions as new. The bulk of them are not new. What is new is the framing and the portal placement. That is a meaningful transparency signal, but it is not new evidence.

  • The CIA remains largely absent through R03 with only trace participation.
  • The State Department contributed 2 items across all releases so far (both in R01) and is essentially silent.
