Greece SWIR Diamond, January 2024

Multi-sensor capture of a diamond-shaped object moving at approximately 800 km/h, detectable only via short-wave infrared. A separate Greece encounter from the October 2023 series.

Official description

DOW-UAP-PR28: short-wave infrared video paired with the DOW-UAP-D25 mission report. The object appeared in SWIR but did not register on conventional visible-spectrum or mid-wave infrared sensors aboard the platform, an unusual observational signature.

Editor's context

The lack of a visible-spectrum or thermal IR signature alongside a clear SWIR return is one of the more genuinely curious aspects of this case. SWIR-only detection can occur with materials that have unusual emissivity characteristics; it does not by itself indicate exotic origin, but it does limit the usual short-list of conventional explanations.

In the margins

Transcribed redactions, stamps, and handwritten markings, the paratext of the file. Often the most human part of a declassified document, and worth reading on its own.

    MULTI-SENSOR PLATFORM, SWIR-ONLY DETECTION
  • Annotation
Object reportedly traveled at approximately 800 km/h. Diamond morphology visible only in short-wave infrared (SWIR); not present in visible-spectrum or mid-wave IR feeds from the same platform.
  • Annotation
SWIR-only detection is unusual: it implies an emissivity profile distinct from most aircraft and atmospheric phenomena. Companion mission report: DOW-UAP-D25.
